Our annual parish-wide Lenten Study Program begins Tuesday, March 12! This year adults will be exploring the seven deadly sins and seven holy virtues.

We will meet from 6:15 to 8 p.m. for five consecutive Tuesdays. The evening starts with a simple supper of soup and salad, followed by a teaching by Fr. Ron Baird, and discussion in small groups. We’ll end each evening with the service of Compline.

Children will move into the Gathering Area after the meal, where they will study the seven sacraments of the Church. Youth will gather for their own Lenten reflections.

This is one of the most effective ways we offer to connect with other members and experience a taste of small group life! In conjunction with the Lenten Study Program, we are trying something new this year; the Lenten Small Group Campaign for people who can’t make Tuesday nights. We plan to make the materials available each week after Tuesday evening for people to use with other church members, friends, and neighbors. This is an easy and short commitment (only five weeks) to get to know others better and possibly build a new small group.

Roshini Abraham, who attends the 9 a.m. service, will facilitate a Women’s Lenten Study Small Group on Sunday afternoons, and the Sisters in the Spirit Small Group will do the study at its Thursday evening meetings. If you’re interested in attending either of these gatherings, or in hosting your own small group, please contact Tally Whitehead at or 740-548-5112, ext 5. No Bible study skills are needed; just a heart to host or help organize a small group to be held in your home or at church on a different night. We will provide the materials and help coach volunteers on hosting and such.

You may sign up to attend the Lenten Study Program, and/or to contribute food to the common meal, on the form at right. Sign-up sheets are also available at the Information Desk at church.

The 2019 Lenten Soup Supper & Study Program will be held on Tuesdays from 6:15 to 8 p.m., March 12 through April 9. With programs for adults, youth and children, our hope is that families will come together to make this Lent a time of discipleship, fellowship and worship!

If you are willing to help provide for the meals, we will be in contact with you soon with the supper schedule. If you have a preferred date, please check it below.
