Collection for ‘Out of Darkness’

The St. Andrew’s Outreach Team will be collecting new or gently used blankets, sleeping bags, and sweaters for “Out of Darkness,” the anti-trafficking outreach and rescue organization in Columbus, through Sunday, Dec. 15. If you’d like to contribute, please place your items in the bin in the coatroom marked for “Out of Darkness.”

“Out of Darkness” is an anti-trafficking outreach and rescue organization in Columbus that provides immediate short-term crisis stabilization and hope through God, to transition exploited adult women into long-term recovery programs.

The organization’s purpose is three-fold: To reach, rescue and restore all victims of commercial sexual exploitation that the glory of God may be known. Our vision is that every life would be restored and free.

The organization’s core values:

Commitment: We are committed to serving the Lord, bringing light to the darkness.

Love: We love all people, regardless of the current situation, and call them to a higher standard that leads to restoration.

Wisdom: We do not rely on human wisdom, but rather seek answers and council through hours of prayer and intercession for those we reach.

Action: We are the hands and feet of Jesus, reaching out to the lost and giving hope to the hopeless.

Our purpose and passion is to love the broken. (Isaiah 61:1-3)
